This pool and accompanying bamboo shower were designed to support the practice of Watsu, a healing modality. In brief, Watsu is a sequence of movements and stretches performed in warm water. The water, coupled with one’s natural buoyancy, acts to ameliorate the bodily effects of gravity. The design intent was to create a sheltered, comfortable and natural environment to afford practitioners and their clients a therapeutic interaction. The bamboo shower is open to the sky, so if it happens to be raining while you’re showering, be warned you will get wet.
